AI apps (MCP)

Use Clikso from AI apps

In short

Clikso works inside AI apps like Claude and ChatGPT. Add one server URL to the app and sign in to Clikso. Then ask for links in plain words. It is free on every plan, and changes or deletes wait for your approval unless you say otherwise.

What MCP is

MCP (Model Context Protocol) is a common way for AI apps to use other services. Clikso runs an MCP server at the URL above.

When your AI app connects, Clikso gives it a set of tools. Each tool does one job, like "list links" or "create short link". The app picks the right tool when your request needs it. You never write code. You just ask.

What you can ask

  • "Make a short link to https://example.com/spring-sale with the slug spring."
  • "Which of my links still point to the old pricing page?"
  • "Suggest three short slugs for this blog post."
  • "Move every link tagged summer into the Archive folder."
  • "Delete the test links I made today."

The app reads and creates straight away. It asks you first before it changes or deletes anything. See all tools.

Connect your app

Free on every plan

AI apps cost nothing extra, on Free and on every paid plan. They follow the same plan limits as API keys:

  • Links per month, folders and tags count the same way.
  • Plan-only link features, like geo-targeting, need the same plan. The app gets a message that says which plan.
  • Click-stats tools are not switched on yet. When they are, they use the same analytics quota as API keys, per workspace.

Each connection can send as many requests a minute as an API key on its best plan. That is 30 a minute on Free.

How Clikso keeps you safe

  • You sign in, the app never gets a key. Clikso opens in your browser. You pick the workspaces and choose "View and make changes" or "View only".
  • Every tool has a setting. Each one is Always allow, Needs approval or Blocked. Reading and creating are allowed at first. Changing and deleting need your approval. See Permissions.
  • You approve risky actions. In Claude, ChatGPT and VS Code (verified at sign-in), a Clikso card in the chat shows what will change, with Approve and Deny. Other apps link you to a Clikso page. See Approvals.
  • Some things are never reachable. AI apps cannot touch link passwords, billing, API keys, members, domain settings or workspace settings.
  • Your role still counts. An app can never do more than you can. If you are a viewer, it can only read.
  • You can see what happened. Settings → AI connections keeps an activity log for each app.

Good to know

  • One connection can use up to 50 workspaces. You can change them later in Settings → AI connections.
  • You stay signed in while you use the app. After 30 days without use, the app asks you to sign in again.
  • The click-stats tools appear only while Clikso has them turned on, so your app may not list them yet.
  • AI apps make mistakes. Read what the approval page shows before you press Approve.
