The back-half can be 3 to 30 characters in total, slashes included, with up to five parts, no slash at the start or end and no two slashes in a row. It works on clik.is and on your own custom domain. The Free plan uses back-halves without a slash. If you move from a paid plan to Free, the nested links you already have keep working. See custom short links.

Not unless you choose to. Your links keep redirecting indefinitely unless you give them an expiry date, archive or delete them, or close your account — or a link is removed for breaking our terms of service.

Yes, and you stay in control. The AI app never gets an API key: you sign in to ClikSo in your browser and choose which workspaces it may use, and whether it can only view or also make changes. Changing or deleting a link waits until you press Approve, and you can set each tool to Always allow, Needs approval or Blocked. Link passwords, billing, API keys, team members and workspace settings are never reachable from an AI app, and you can disconnect it at any time in Settings → AI connections. Encrypted with AES-256-GCM, never as plain text and never as a reversible hash you could look up. Each password gets its own random initialisation vector, the encryption key lives outside the database, and the stored value is versioned so the key can be rotated without invalidating anyone's links. The password check itself runs at the edge: the destination URL is never part of the short link, so it cannot be read without getting past the gate. Password protection starts on the Starter plan.

Yes. Every workspace member holds one of three roles — admin, editor or viewer — and the role is checked on the server for every request, not just hidden in the interface. Viewers can read links and analytics without changing anything; editors create and edit links; admins additionally manage members, domains, billing and API keys. Seats are 1 on Free, 2 on Starter, 5 on Pro, 12 on Business and custom on Enterprise.

Revoke it from Settings → API. Revocation takes effect immediately and is per-key, so your other integrations keep running while you mint a replacement. Keys are stored only as a hash — we cannot show you an existing key, which is also why nobody who gets into your account can read one. Each key carries its own permission level (read, write or admin), so a key you hand to a script never needs to be able to do more than that script does.

Yes, on every plan, including Free. It is a REST API with Bearer-token authentication covering links, folders and tags, read access to your domains, and your click analytics — totals, breakdowns by country, device, browser and referrer, and clicks over time. You create keys in Settings → API, and the developer docs walk you from a new key to your first link.

Keys per workspace: 3 on Free, 10 on Starter, 20 on Pro, 30 on Business, and a custom number on Enterprise. Rate limits are per key, per minute: 30 on Free, 100 on Starter, 300 on Pro, 500 on Business. Going over the limit returns a 429 and the key keeps working — nothing is suspended, and the next minute starts clean. The analytics endpoints also have a daily allowance for the whole workspace: 100 requests on Free, 1,000 on Starter, 5,000 on Pro and 20,000 on Business. The browser extension uses one key per connected browser, so count those too. Every number is on the limits page of the docs.

Analytics go back 30 days on Free, 90 days on Starter, 6 months on Pro and 1 year on Business. Enterprise retention is set per contract. This is how far back the dashboard can look — clicks older than the window stay counted in your lifetime totals, they just drop out of the date range you can filter and chart.

Timestamp, which link was clicked, where it sent the visitor, country, region and city, device type, browser, operating system, referrer, and all five UTM parameters. IP address and user agent are used to work those out and are never shown in your dashboard. We do not sell click data to anyone.

Usually within about a minute. Click logging runs off the redirect path, so recording a click never slows the visitor down, and each event carries an ID that is deduplicated on arrival — a retry cannot double-count a click.
