Browser Extension Terms of Use
Last Updated: September 18, 2026
These terms cover the ClikSo browser extension only. They are an addition to our main Terms of Service, which continues to govern your ClikSo account, your links and your subscription.
Where these terms and the main Terms of Service say different things about the extension, these terms win. Where these terms are silent, the main Terms of Service apply in full.
What the extension does with your data is covered separately, in the Extension Privacy Policy.
By installing or using the extension, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not install it — and if you have already installed it, uninstall it.
1. Who we are
The extension is published by Playxoft Studios Private Limited (“we”, “us” or “our”), a company registered in India, which operates ClikSo at clik.so.
You can reach us at support@clik.so.
2. What the extension is
The extension is a companion to your ClikSo account. It lets you shorten the page you are on, shorten a link you right-click, or shorten a URL you type after the clik keyword in your address bar, and it lets you see, search, copy and edit your recent links — without opening the dashboard.
It is a client for the ClikSo service. It is not a separate product, it stores nothing of yours on our servers that the dashboard would not, and it does not work on its own.
3. You need a ClikSo account
The extension only works once you connect it to at least one ClikSo workspace. You start that from the extension and approve it on a ClikSo page while signed in.
That means everything in our main Terms of Service applies to your use of the extension, including:
- Eligibility. You must be at least 18 years old and able to enter into a contract.
- Acceptable use. The rules in section 2 of the main Terms of Service apply to every link you create through the extension exactly as they apply to links created in the dashboard.
- Plan limits. Links you create through the extension count against your workspace's monthly link allowance, and the clicks they receive count against your tracked-click allowance, the same as any other link.
4. Your workspace key
When you connect a workspace, ClikSo issues the extension an API key for that workspace. The key is stored on your device and sent with each request so we know whose account the request belongs to.
Treat it as a credential:
- Anyone with that key can act in that workspace at the access level of the account that created it. Do not extract it, share it, or copy it into another tool.
- Do not install the extension on a device you do not control, or on a shared profile you would not want signed into your ClikSo account.
- Tell us promptly at support@clik.so if you believe a key has been exposed.
You can revoke a key at any time — press Disconnect in the extension's options, or go to Settings → API keys in the dashboard. Revoking takes effect on our side, so it works even if you no longer have the browser.
You are responsible for activity carried out with a key issued to your workspace, except to the extent it results from our own failure.
5. What you may not do with the extension
In addition to the acceptable-use rules in the main Terms of Service, you may not:
- Automate it. The extension is for your own interactive use. Do not drive it with scripts, bots or synthetic input to create links in bulk or at machine speed. If you want programmatic access, use the ClikSo API under your own key.
- Repackage or redistribute it. Do not copy, fork, rebrand, sell or publish the extension or any part of it, or distribute a modified build, without our written permission.
- Reverse-engineer it, except to the extent that applicable law expressly permits despite this restriction.
- Work around limits. Do not attempt to bypass plan limits, rate limits, authentication, or the single-use approval that protects the right-click dialog.
- Use it to disguise harmful destinations. Every link you create is subject to the same abuse rules and the same enforcement as a link created in the dashboard. Anyone can report a link at clik.so/report-link.
6. Installation, updates and browser stores
You install the extension through a browser's extension store. That store's own terms and privacy rules apply to the distribution of the extension, in addition to these terms. We do not control those stores and are not responsible for them.
The extension updates itself through the store. Updates may change, add or remove features. We may also change what the ClikSo API offers, which can change what a given version of the extension can do.
We may discontinue the extension, or stop supporting a browser or an older version of it, at any time. Your ClikSo account and your existing links are unaffected — they remain available in the dashboard.
7. Permissions
The browser will ask you to approve permissions when you install the extension. Each permission we request, and the reason for it, is listed in the Extension Privacy Policy.
If you decline a permission, or later remove it, parts of the extension may stop working.
8. Your links belong to you
Shortening a link through the extension does not change who owns anything. The destination content remains yours, or its owner's. The short links you create live in your ClikSo account and are governed by the main Terms of Service.
The extension itself — its code, its name, and the ClikSo brand — remains ours.
9. Disclaimer of warranties
THE EXTENSION IS PROVIDED ON AN “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE” BASIS. PLAYXOFT STUDIOS PRIVATE LIMITED EXPRESSLY DISCLAIMS ALL WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING, BUT NOT LIMITED TO, THE IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.
WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE EXTENSION WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, SECURE OR ERROR-FREE, THAT IT WILL BE COMPATIBLE WITH ANY PARTICULAR BROWSER OR BROWSER VERSION, OR THAT ANY DEFECTS WILL BE CORRECTED.
10. Limitation of liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, IN NO EVENT SHALL PLAYXOFT STUDIOS PRIVATE LIMITED, ITS DIRECTORS, EMPLOYEES OR AGENTS BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING WITHOUT LIMITATION LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, USE, GOODWILL OR OTHER INTANGIBLE LOSSES, ARISING OUT OF OR RELATING TO YOUR USE OF, OR INABILITY TO USE, THE EXTENSION.
The extension is provided at no additional charge on top of your ClikSo plan. Our total liability for any claim relating to the extension is limited in the same way as the main Terms of Service: for a paid subscription, to the amount you paid us in the six months preceding the claim; and where you use ClikSo on the Free plan, the extension is provided without warranty or liability and you use it entirely at your own risk.
11. Suspension and termination
You can stop using the extension at any time by disconnecting your workspaces or uninstalling it.
We may revoke an extension key, or block the extension's access to your workspace, if we reasonably believe it is being used in breach of these terms or the main Terms of Service, or to protect the ClikSo service or other users. Where it is practical and lawful to do so, we will tell you why.
Termination of your ClikSo account, under section 4 of the main Terms of Service, also ends your right to use the extension.
12. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms as the extension changes. When we do, we will update the date at the top of this page and publish the new version here. If a change is significant, we will say so in the extension or by email.
Continuing to use the extension after a change means you accept the updated terms.
13. Governing law and jurisdiction
These terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of India.
Any dispute arising out of or relating to these terms or the extension is subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts located in Kanchipuram or Chennai, Tamil Nadu, India.
