# Get domain preferences

`GET https://app.clik.so/api/workspace/domain-prefs`

> **In short:** Returns the default short-link domain the key's creator picked in this workspace, and the free domains they hid from their list.

## You need

* **API key permission:** `read`
* **Workspace role:** viewer or higher
* **Plan:** any plan, including Free

## Example

```bash
curl "https://app.clik.so/api/workspace/domain-prefs" \
  -H "Authorization: Bearer $CLIKSO_API_KEY"
```

Response 200:

```json
{
  "status": 200,
  "success": true,
  "message": "Success",
  "data": {
    "default_domain": "links.example.com",
    "disabled_domains": [
      "shop.clik.is"
    ]
  }
}
```

## Common errors

| Status | Code                  | When                                                      |
| ------ | --------------------- | --------------------------------------------------------- |
| 401    | `UNAUTHORIZED`        | The API key is missing, malformed or unknown.             |
| 403    | `API_KEY_NOT_ALLOWED` | You sent a `PUT`. Preferences are read-only for API keys. |
| 429    | `RATE_LIMITED`        | The key went over its per-minute request limit.           |

## Good to know

* These are the key creator's own preferences, not a workspace-wide setting.
* `default_domain` is `null` when they never picked one. Links then use `clik.is`.
* The API does not apply this default for you. Send `domain` or `custom_domain_id` on create if you want it.
* API keys can only read these preferences.
