# Get a tag

`GET https://app.clik.so/api/tags/{id}`

> **In short:** Returns one tag by its id.

## You need

* **API key permission:** `read`
* **Workspace role:** viewer or higher
* **Plan:** any plan, including Free

## Parameters

| `id` | path | string | yes      | The tag's id. |

## Common errors

| Status | Code           | When                                               |
| ------ | -------------- | -------------------------------------------------- |
| 401    | `UNAUTHORIZED` | The API key is missing, malformed or unknown.      |
| 404    | `NOT_FOUND`    | No tag with this id exists in the key's workspace. |
| 429    | `RATE_LIMITED` | The key went over its per-minute request limit.    |

## Good to know

* `link_count` is the real number of links carrying the tag (before 1.61.1 it was always `0` here).
