# Get AI slug usage

`POST https://app.clik.so/api/links/ai-slug/consume`

> **In short:** Tells you how many AI slug suggestions your workspace has used today and how many are left. Despite the path, it uses nothing up.

## You need

* **API key permission:** `write`
* **Workspace role:** editor or higher
* **Plan:** any plan, including Free

## Common errors

| Status | Code           | When                                                                            |
| ------ | -------------- | ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| 401    | `UNAUTHORIZED` | The API key is missing, malformed or unknown.                                   |
| 403    | `FORBIDDEN`    | The key only has Read permission, or its creator is a viewer in this workspace. |
| 429    | `RATE_LIMITED` | The key went over its per-minute request limit.                                 |

## Good to know

* It is a `POST` with no body, for historical reasons. It only reads the counter.
* `limit` and `remaining` are `-1` on plans with no daily limit.
* The counter resets at midnight UTC.
