# Connect ChatGPT to Clikso

Add Clikso to ChatGPT as a custom MCP server on chatgpt.com. Whether you can add one, and whether it can make changes, depends on your ChatGPT plan.

> **In short:**
>
> On chatgpt.com, add a custom MCP server with the Clikso server URL. ChatGPT opens Clikso so you can sign in and pick workspaces. Whether you can add custom servers, and whether they can make changes, depends on your ChatGPT plan.

**Server URL:** `https://app.clik.so/mcp`

Last checked: 9 October 2026.

## You need

* **ChatGPT:** A plan that allows custom MCP servers. At work, your admin may need to allow it too.
* **A browser:** You add the server on chatgpt.com. The phone apps cannot add one.
* **Clikso:** Any plan, including Free.

## Add the server

### Step 1. Open plugins

On chatgpt.com, open **Plugins**. Press **+**, then **Add custom MCP server**.

### Step 2. Describe it and paste the URL

Name it `Clikso`, and add a short description such as "Create and manage my short links." For the connection, paste `https://app.clik.so/mcp`.

Set up sign-in when ChatGPT asks. Read its notice, press **I understand and want to continue**, then **Create as a plugin**.

### Step 3. Sign in to Clikso

A Clikso page opens. Tick the workspaces, choose **View and make changes** or **View only**, and press **Allow access**.

The screen ChatGPT opens is a Clikso page, app.clik.so/oauth/authorize. It shows:

* **Title:** "ChatGPT wants to connect to your Clikso account".
* **Workspaces:** tick the ones the app may use.
* **What can ChatGPT do?** "View and make changes" or "View only".
* **The rules:** search and read your links, folders and tags; create links, folders and tags; changing or deleting asks you first; never billing, API keys, members or link passwords.
* **Buttons:** Cancel and Allow access.

### Step 4. Use it in a chat

Pick Clikso in a new chat and ask, for example, "Which of my links point to example.com?"

## Approve changes in the chat

When a tool needs your approval, Clikso shows a card in the chat. It says "Clikso needs your approval" and shows exactly what will change. Press **Approve** and Clikso makes the change at once, or press **Deny**. See [Approvals](https://clik.so/docs/ai/approvals).

## ChatGPT asks too

ChatGPT asks you to confirm before a tool makes changes. That prompt belongs to ChatGPT.

Clikso's settings apply on top of it, and Clikso's setting is the one enforced for every app. A tool set to Needs approval in Clikso still waits for you on the Clikso card.

### Good to know

* ChatGPT changes this screen often. If a button name differs, look for "custom MCP server" or "developer mode" in its settings.
* Some plans can only read and search with custom servers. If ChatGPT will not create links, check what your plan allows.
* To stop, remove the plugin in ChatGPT. Then press **Disconnect** in Clikso under Settings → AI connections.
